CHANUTE — Colby Works and Isaiah Fawson swept the singles titles in the Blue Comets Tennis Tournament Friday.
“Colby and Isaiah had great days winning their singles divisions,” Iola coach Dan Berg said.
Their victories helped the Mustangs clinch the team championship by edging out second-place Chanute and third-place El Dorado.

Mason Key and Rhett Allen suffered a first-round loss, to the No. 1 doubles team from El Dorado, but they were able to reel off a pair victories to salvage a fifth-place finish. They defeated Columbus, 8-1, and Fort Scott, 8-6.
Jon Miller and Braden Plumlee also picked up a key win for the Mustangs in the race for the team championship.
